About Me

I began my career by pursuing a B.Sc. in Psychology from McGill University, driven by care and curiosity to gain insight into what would push people I loved deeply to contemplate suicide. After graduating in 2005 I dove into supporting people through the complexities of mental health difficulties by working in women’s and youth shelters. I later completed a Masters of Social Work (MSW) from York University in 2010. Since finishing my MSW studies, I have completed post-graduate training in numerous models of therapy

Drawn to working with people seeking to improve their sense of well-being, I have held numerous research and frontline positions in the field of mental health, addiction, and homelessness.  From hospitals to community and residential organizations, my range of experience has brought me opportunities to work along-side people to tackle all kinds of life challenges, including severe mental health difficulties (Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar), addiction, trauma, grief/loss, identity discovery (including gender and sexuality identity) and relationship challenges (including couples therapy, family conflict, and explorations of polyamory).

Life transitions have become increasingly fascinating to me since I was plunged into a major transition of my own sparked by a culmination of life long anxiety. Being pushed to look at the ways I’d been coping brought me on an unexpected path of shifting my life by making significant changes in my relationships, work life, and habits. I have seen first-hand the exciting things that can happen from harnessing the energy of difficult transition, and am excited to be supporting others on this journey.

I began my private practice in Toronto, Ontario where I was born and raised and lived most of my life. In 2021 the Covid-19 pandemic was the back drop for a decision to relocate to British Columbia where I’d longed to live for many years. I now live in the South Okanagan Valley with my partner and son.

I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), the BC College of Social Workers (BCCSW), and the Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW). My services are covered by most health benefit plans.
